He is supposed to live way back and way out of the way up in the Himalaya, but now the Yeti has come to visit Chatroulette, and he is not at all like you Would think a guy like that would be. First of all, obviously he has access to hardware and telecommunications wherever he may have set up camp. And he likes to listen to music and dance as well. And even though I don’t think anybody has really been talking to him up there, he seems to know his way around quite well. And then, he is also not shy or a gruffy sort of person. Somebody living out of the way of everybody else is really not expected to have a lot of social skills or just even interest for society. But one thing has turned out to be true after all: he has a body hair problem. But well, maybe he’ll get some polish soon. But we are left to ask what will come next. Which remote creature will fall for the great social network that is Chatroulette? Nessie? Or will Lord Lucan make an appearance?
There are lots of songs going round about Chatroulette already, but this one hasn’t been mentioned here so far: the Jon Lajoie Chatroulette ballad as seen on Youtube. It’s nice in a sort of mellow easy way. He sings about the high hopes he had when he heard about Chatroulette and all the people he could get to meet, the things he would learn about, and friends he would make on Chatroulette. But then reality strikes and all he gets to see are guys jerking off. Gone all the high hopes and left with despair, the song ends on a note of disgust. But then like the old song with the title High Hopes (see this Sinatra-nursery clip), I think you just shouldn’t give up so easily and also you shouldn’t represent Chatroulette in such a negative way. That is really not the whole picture. Because you really do get to meet fun people: crazy guys, clever jokes and also nice girls. Never give up. Chatroulette is worth it!
There is no end to the things that people can make parts of their body look like on Chatroulette – as long as you get the camera angle and/or the lighting right. And here is another funny thing people did with their hand this time. Check out the clip here. Some of the things just look totally pornographic (the closed eye as a vagina, for example). And among all those REAL weirdoes showing off their dicks or breasts or other things, I always have a good laugh to see this fake porno. But the funny thing about this finger puppet here is that it doesn’t look like anything pornographic, but it seems pornographic. Sort of like porn around two corners. Am I making myself clear? I mean, you directly see it IS a hand, but the longer you look at it the more pornographic it looks: a dick hanging there? A but peeping out? A dick ready to push in to whatever you can think of as usual targets? Some stunted dick-but? It just gets really weird, the longer you look at it!
Who would ever have thought that Chatroulette would bring together crossdressing Men posing as sexy bikini models and Christians looking for Christian partners. But this German website called Literature Asylum does that. There, you first get to see a video clip of guys on Chatroulette watching a girl in bikini do a sexy dance. But then the guys bends down and you see his shaggy face letting the guys know that they are no officially gay. That’s not that special. But then the truly weird stuff starts: they say it might be a better or more sane internet thing to look for a partner on this Christian website. The name by the way means to have a heavenly chat. And I think they are actually serious. I mean, it’s not an irony thing. How totally weird, no? I mean, I’ve seen some weird couplings in Chatroulette videos, and I have met some weird people on CR, but this really is way out there.
Some things are really a bit bizarre. Like people who go running in Halloween costume or speak only in French to their goldfish. But there seems to be some strange new trend on Chatroulette: the foot peepshow. Here is a clip of a lot of guys showing off their feet. It is not gross or anything, but it is sort of funny when you have wiggling toes move center stage and everything else moves into the background: face, chest, arms, hands. All those things that we normally find much more useful or interesting when trying to get to know people we just met for the first time. The funniest thing about this is that the guys are happy to oblige: you ask them and off they whip the shoe and the sock and let you get a good close up of their feet. So far, there were no guys with pink toenails or embarrassing jewellery. But hey, maybe some time soon, guys will be dressing up their feet for the next strip!
The clip is called “Santa Claus gets naughty” and in the last ten seconds of the clip you get to know why. But I think this clip is also quite good in showing what Chatroulette also is about: waiting, waiting, and yes, wait yet a bit more. So, there is this guy and he is logged on to Chatroulette, and what happens is he gets hooked up with … yes, a lot of other guys. But the dude is cool. He just lets the thing go and waits what will happen. No fast-clicking through a dozen people in one minute for this guy. He sits, and watches, and rubs his face, sits up, watches, blinks, watches. And the funny thing is, most of his chat partners do the same. Some Zen attitude at work here. When one of them clicks next, you sense there’s no hard feeling lost between them. And the soundtrack is well chosen, mellow, low-key. And then that ghost of a smile as he stumbles on Santa at work with Barbie. Cool.
It’s supposed to be a April’s Fools Day thing, but browsing through the clips about girls turning out to be guys in a Chatroulette session, this Dr Pepper Cheerleader was hot and funny enough months later. And the cheerleader cutie plus the crossdresser guy are a weird couple, don’t ya think? Maybe that’s the thing that makes this clip so good. I guess Chatroulette does let you have it all: the sexy blonde flashing you her cleavage in a Dr Pepper red cheerleader outfit and the joke about the guy in the same outfit. Just like a Dr. Pepper: sweet and spicy. So, kick back, get a Dr. Pepper and dream about that girl – or the guy. But then you are REALLY weird.
